{"id":12449,"date":"2020-03-05T11:51:06","date_gmt":"2020-03-05T16:51:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/?p=12449"},"modified":"2020-03-20T05:44:20","modified_gmt":"2020-03-20T10:44:20","slug":"wireless-bridge-for-security-cameras","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/wireless-bridge-for-security-cameras\/","title":{"rendered":"Wireless bridge for security cameras"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Sometimes is necessary to send the signals from your <strong>IP cameras<\/strong> to a recorder or central station located far away and that&#8217;s where you can use a wireless bridge for security cameras.<\/p>\n<p><span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Wireless bridge for CCTV\" data-id=\"12456\" width=\"720\" height=\"200\" title=\"Wireless bridge for CCTV\" src=\"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Wireless-bridge-for-CCTV.png\" style=\"\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Wi-fi radios and wireless bridge for security cameras are very common on outdoor projects where is too hard to pull cables.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">It&#8217;s possible to power up the IP camera using a PoE (Power over Ethernet) device such as a power injector or <a href=\"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/how-to-use-a-poe-switch-for-ip-camera\/\" style=\"outline: none;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">PoE switch <\/a>as shown in the previous picture.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">The switch can be connected to a radio transmitter to send the video signals to a receiver which is also connected to a switch that leads to computers or recorders.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If the wireless radios are configured to work in &#8220;<strong><em>bridge mode<\/em><\/strong>&#8221; they will simply connect both ends as if a UTP (network cable) was used between the switches.<\/p>\n<p><span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Wireless bridge for security camera analogy\" data-id=\"12460\" width=\"1681\" height=\"419\" title=\"Wireless bridge for security camera analogy\" src=\"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Wireless-bridge-for-security-camera-analogy.png\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Most of the professional wireless radios have the bridge mode available, so make sure you buy a model that allows such a configuration.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">See below an example of the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2TpprOh\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"outline: none;\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Ubiquity Nano Station<\/a> wireless radio which has the Transparent Bridge Mode, you just need to check the enable box.
