{"id":12877,"date":"2020-03-12T09:57:50","date_gmt":"2020-03-12T14:57:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/?p=12877"},"modified":"2020-05-01T10:48:49","modified_gmt":"2020-05-01T15:48:49","slug":"wyze-not-responding-to-alexa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/wyze-not-responding-to-alexa\/","title":{"rendered":"Wyze camera not responding to Alexa"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">All of sudden you got your Wyze camera not responding to Alexa.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">You may be wondering why that happened since everything was working fine.<\/p>\n<p><span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Wyze Camera not responding to Alexa\" data-id=\"12915\" width=\"720\" height=\"286\" title=\"Wyze Camera not responding to Alexa\" src=\"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Wyze-Camera-not-responding-to-Alexa.png\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Don&#8217;t worry, if your <strong>Wyze Cam isn&#8217;t responding to Alexa<\/strong> when you try to use devices such as Echo dot, Echo Show or Firestick I have a quick solution&#8230;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Why the Wyze Camera is not responding to Alexa?<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">There are different scenarios for this problem&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Maybe you just upgraded your Wyze Cam with new firmware.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Or perhaps you deleted the camera from Alexa Skills.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Changing the camera name also could cause the problem.<\/p>\n<p>Anyway, I got a similar problem when trying to show my camera on TV.<\/p>\n<p>And the fast fix to this problem was to delete and add the camera on Alexa.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s see how to do that&#8230;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">How to solve the problem<\/h2>\n<p>I have an Amazon Firestick 4K connected to my TV.<\/p>\n<p>When trying to show my Wyze Cam (Kitchen) on TV I got a message&#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"\">&#8220;<em>The skill linked to kitchen is not enabled, please enable the skill to control this device<\/em>&#8220;<\/p>\n<p>I checked the Alexa App and my kitchen camera was there&#8230;.<\/p>\n<p><span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Wyze Cam Enabled on Alexa\" data-id=\"12885\" width=\"720\" height=\"856\" title=\"Wyze Cam Enabled on Alexa\" src=\"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Wyze-Cam-Enabled-on-Alexa.png\" style=\"\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Everything was good, the camera was enabled&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>I restarted my Firestick and tried again but got the same message:<\/p>\n<p><em>&#8220;The skill linked to kitchen is not enabled, please enable the skill to control this device&#8221;<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I was like&#8230; &#8220;<em>what&#8217;s wrong with this ?<\/em>&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;<em>Why my Wyze camera is not responding to Alexa?<\/em>&#8221;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>And then I just deleted the camera from Alexa and started all over again&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>And it worked. Now I have my Wyze Cam working with the Firestick.<\/p>\n<p><strong>You can do the same, just delete it and add it back to the Alexa.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s something related to security updates and authentication.<\/p>\n<p>Just in case you don&#8217;t know how to do that, here are is the step-by-step process&#8230;<\/p>\n<h2>How to delete\/add the Wyze Camera to Alexa<\/h2>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the quick step-by-step to add the Wyze Camera to Alexa:<\/p>\n<p>Install the Amazon Alexa App on your phone.<\/p>\n<p><span><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Alexa App Installed on Mobile Phone\" data-id=\"12892\" width=\"720\" height=\"380\" title=\"Alexa App Installed on Mobile Phone\" src=\"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/03\/Alexa-App-Installed-on-Mobile-Phone.png\" style=\"\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>On the bottom right, click on &#8221;
