{"id":16276,"date":"2020-05-20T15:16:17","date_gmt":"2020-05-20T20:16:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/?p=16276"},"modified":"2020-05-20T15:16:53","modified_gmt":"2020-05-20T20:16:53","slug":"zosi-nvr-wont-add-camera-solved","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/zosi-nvr-wont-add-camera-solved\/","title":{"rendered":"Zosi NVR won\u2019t add camera (solved)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Everything is physically connected but the Zosi NVR won&#8217;t add the camera.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">I&#8217;ve been there and I had exactly the same problem so I&#8217;m here to help.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Zosi NVR missing channel 01\" src=\"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Zosi-NVR-missing-channel-01.jpg\" alt=\"Zosi NVR missing channel 01\" width=\"719\" height=\"405\" data-id=\"16281\" data-init-width=\"720\" data-init-height=\"405\" data-width=\"719\" data-height=\"405\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">To add a new IP camera to the Zosi NVR you just need to connect it via UTP cable, get into the &#8220;<em>IPC channel config<\/em>&#8221; to do the proper setup.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">I know, sometimes things don&#8217;t work as expected and for some reason, the camera just doesn&#8217;t show up in the menu or it&#8217;s there but <strong>won&#8217;t add to the NVR<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Let&#8217;s talk about this problem and of course, see what&#8217;s the solution&#8230;<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Zosi camera network disconnected<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">When the Zosi NVR boots for the first time, it supposes to recognize and add all the cameras that are connected to its ports. But sometimes it won&#8217;t happen.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">In this example, I have 3 of the cameras that are correctly displayed but one of them is not showing up even if it&#8217;s connected to the NVR and the LEDs are blinking.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Zosi NVR wont add camera\" src=\"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Zosi-NVR-wont-add-camera.jpg\" alt=\"Zosi NVR wont add camera\" width=\"719\" height=\"405\" data-id=\"16282\" data-init-width=\"720\" data-init-height=\"405\" data-width=\"719\" data-height=\"405\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">As you can see, the camera image is not displayed and it also doesn&#8217;t show up in the NVR &#8220;<em>IPC Channel Config<\/em>&#8221; (where it suppose to).<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">The only message I see in the channels is &#8220;<em><strong>Zosi Network Disconnected<\/strong><\/em>&#8221; as shown in the first picture and that&#8217;s annoying.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">How to fix the Zosi network disconnected<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Usually you just need to click the &#8220;<em>Search<\/em>&#8221; button to allow the NVR to look for the camera and then click the &#8220;<em>Add<\/em>&#8221; button to add the camera to the NVR.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Zosi NVR camera found\" src=\"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Zosi-NVR-camera-found.jpg\" alt=\"Zosi NVR camera found\" width=\"719\" height=\"339\" data-id=\"16284\" data-init-width=\"720\" data-init-height=\"339\" data-width=\"719\" data-height=\"339\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">The image above shows that the camera with IP 192.168.138.100 was found and it&#8217;s not in the list below, that&#8217;s the reason I know this is the missing one.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Now it&#8217;s just a question of clicking the &#8220;Add&#8221; the camera to the NVR.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">The image below shows the camera added to the NVR, it&#8217;s also possible to see that the image is displaying in the back of the screen (behind the menu).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Zosi NVR 4 cameras added to the NVR\" src=\"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/Zosi-NVR-4-cameras-added-to-the-NVR.jpg\" alt=\"Zosi NVR 4 cameras added to the NVR\" width=\"719\" height=\"404\" data-id=\"16287\" data-init-width=\"720\" data-init-height=\"404\" data-width=\"719\" data-height=\"404\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">And that&#8217;s it. Now the camera is added to the NVR and working fine.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">NVR Troubleshooting<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">If you followed the instructions in this article but the NVR still won&#8217;t add the camera, please check the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Is the UTP (network cable) correctly connected to the camera?<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Are the LEDs in the back of the DVR blinking?<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Are the LEDs in the camera connector blinking?<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Is the UTP cable good?<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Is the PoE port in the NVR working?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Sometimes a bad connection or bad cable could be the problem.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">The maximum length of the UTP cable should be 100m.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Try to replace the UTP cable to see if the camera works.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">You can also try to connect the camera to the other PoE port.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Conclusion<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">If your Zosi camera can&#8217;t connect to the NVR you need to try following the procedure described in this article before contacting the technical support.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">As the last resort visit the <a style=\"outline: none;\" href=\"https:\/\/support.zositech.com\/hc\/en-us\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zosi technical support site<\/a> and ask for help.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">I hope you like this article, please share it with your friends.<\/p>\n<h2>Want to learn more ?<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">If you want to become a <strong>professional CCTV installer or designer<\/strong>, take a look at the material available in the blog.
