There are different versions of the product, and the <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Nanostation Loco M2<\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\"> is a model that is very affordable and easy to use.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">You can usually find this model on Amazon with reduced promotional prices.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">I noticed that a lot of people are using the Ubiquiti NanoStation for security cameras, so I decided to give a try and check if this radio can get the job done. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Yes, a security camera converts the video into data packets, and of course, the radio can send such packets from point A to Point B. Still, my concern is more related to the radio stability while working with critical traffic from cameras 24\/7.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Ubiquiti NanoStation Loco M2 for IP cameras<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">You can use wireless radios in surveillance systems to send the video stream from the IP camera to a recorder located on a central station, as shown in the picture.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Ubiquiti NanoStation for surveillance system\" src=\"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Ubiquiti-NanoStation-for-surveillance-system.jpg\" alt=\"Ubiquiti NanoStation for surveillance system\" width=\"717\" height=\"568\" data-id=\"19019\" data-init-width=\"766\" data-init-height=\"606\" data-width=\"717\" data-height=\"568\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">On the left side, there&#8217;s an\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"outline: none;\" href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3gIa1gC\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">IP camera\u00a0<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">connected to a\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"outline: none;\" href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2QynE7F\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Ubiquiti Radio<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0that is used to transmit the video to a receiver located on the other side connected to a\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2EOTFW4\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Switch<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Devices such as\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"outline: none;\" href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/2ELIeyq\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">laptops\u00a0<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">or an\u00a0<\/span><a style=\"outline: none;\" href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/34JArfy\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">NVRs (Network Video Recorder)<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u00a0are connected to the switch to receive and handle the traffic coming from the IP camera.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The most common way to use the radios for such an application is to set them up in bridge mode to transmit the data between the locations transparently.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">What is in the Ubiquiti NanoStation box ?<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u200bIn the product&#8217;s box, there&#8217;s the Ubiquiti radio, a tie wrap, a power cord, and the power supply with PoE ports, as shown in the picture below.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Ubiquiti nanostation loco m2 what is in the box\" src=\"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Ubiquiti-nanostation-loco-m2-what-is-in-the-box.jpg\" alt=\"Ubiquiti nanostation loco m2 what is in the box\" width=\"719\" height=\"380\" data-id=\"19027\" data-init-width=\"720\" data-init-height=\"380\" data-width=\"719\" data-height=\"380\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u200bOne of the switch Ethernet ports is labeled PoE, which is used to power the radio via a UTP cable. cursor: text;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u200bIt&#8217;s simple like that, and now you are ready to turn the system on.<\/span><\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">The Ubiquiti NanoStation \u200bSetup<\/span><\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">It&#8217;s possible to access the Radio&#8217;s menu via a web browser. <\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">\u200bConnect an UTP cable from a computer\/laptop to the radio (or switch the radios is connected to) and follow the steps below.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Change the computer IP address to 192.168.2.x (x is a between 1 and 254);<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Use a web browser and type the IP address 192.168.1.20;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Enter the username\/password ubnt\/ubnt;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Change the default password;<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;
