cursor: text;\">Those plugins still work for old cameras, but it&#8217;s not a good idea to keep using them, mainly because it&#8217;s hard to get technical support such plugins and need to depend on old versions of the IE browsers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">This case&#8217;s solution is to install an old IE browser or move on to the new technology by upgrading the IP camera&#8217;s firmware to the latest version.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">The old technology NPAPI<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Later, the IP cameras started working with the new web browsers such as Google Chrome, but it was dependent on a technology called NPAPI (Netscape Plugin Application Programming Interface).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"Chrome NPAPI\" src=\"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/Chrome-NPAPI.jpg\" alt=\"Chrome NPAPI\" width=\"332\" height=\"124\" data-id=\"19590\" data-init-width=\"669\" data-init-height=\"249\" data-width=\"332\" data-height=\"124\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Unfortunately, in 2013 Google discontinued this technology from the Chrome web browser, so the IP cameras that still use NPAPI can have incompatibility problems.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Perhaps your Hikvision camera shows the &#8220;<strong><em>live view failed<\/em><\/strong>&#8221; message because it&#8217;s using an old firmware that still depends on the NPAPI technology.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">If that&#8217;s the case, update the camera&#8217;s firmware to the latest version that doesn&#8217;t depend on the NPAPI anymore to work with live video.<\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">==&gt; The firmware update works with\u00a0<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">original Hikvision cameras<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">; Hikvision OEM cameras usually don&#8217;t let you update the firmware to a newer version.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; If you are using a Hikvision OEM, follow the next step.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The solution for Hikvision OEM cameras<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">It&#8217;s not possible to upgrade the firmware on most of the Hikvision OEM cameras.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">You know when the camera is not original, when you see the seller advertising a camera as Hikvision OEM, or just because there&#8217;s no Hikvision logo on the product.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Sometimes you even see the logo on the camera&#8217;s menu, but that doesn&#8217;t mean it&#8217;s the original product. Pay attention to that when buying the product.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">Install the Chrome IE Tabs extension<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Anyway, you can use an old Google Chrome such as version 4.4 and older or install a <strong>Google Extension to use the IE Tab<\/strong> for this type of product.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">The TCP protocol uses the ports&#8217; concepts to connect to a device in the network, and there&#8217;s two-way communication between them.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">UDP sends the information and doesn&#8217;t care about confirmation, so some devices use the UDP protocol to send audio and video over the network.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;
