It captures videos with 2560 \u00d7 1440 pixels, representing the double number of the traditional Full HD (1080p) cameras.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Higher resolution means better image details, especially when you need to use the digital zoom to recognize a person or read a license plate.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Low light performance<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Most of the traditional security cameras have a hard time working in low light conditions. At nighttime, they usually need to turn on the Infrared LEDs or use a <a style=\"outline: none;\" href=\"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/reolink-lumus-review\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">spotlight camera<\/a> to illuminate the scene and identify a possible tread.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Sure, Infrared and spotlights are useful, but sometimes it&#8217;s better to work with a camera that captures images in low light conditions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Let&#8217;s say you install the camera outdoors, and the infrared LEDs are not powerful enough to illuminate the extensive area. Or perhaps you can&#8217;t use a spotlight because you don&#8217;t want to draw attention to the camera.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Security cameras with low light performance automatically change its parameter (lens aperture, shutter speed, gain, etc.) to adapt to harsh conditions. Infrared OFF &#8211; Adjustments for B\/W mode<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">The first picture represents the real scenario, as you may seem without any lights.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">In the second picture, the infrared LEDs are on, and it&#8217;s possible to see in the dark.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Using infrared lights in a scenario with reflective objects, like glass, can be a problem. Luckily, the glass does not bounce the IR light back to the camera&#8217;s lens,<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">The third picture shows the infrared LEDs OFF, and the camera was adjusted to work with low light. It&#8217;s possible to see the image in the dark in color mode.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Finally, the image number 4 shows the Infrared OFF with the camera parameters adjusted to work with low light condition in black and white mote.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Backlight compensation<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Most cameras have a hard time working in a situation with a high light contrast.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">That&#8217;s the case when you install the camera indoors, pointing to a window.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">The security camera must have some feature to compensate for the difference between the bright and dark areas .That&#8217;s called &#8220;<em>Backlight compensation<\/em>&#8220;.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">The Hikvision Mini PTZ camera has the <a style=\"outline: none;\" href=\"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/what-is-wdr\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">WDR (Wide Dynamic Range)<\/a> feature, which is the best way to deal with this scenario.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">In the camera&#8217;s datasheet, you can find the information about the 120dB WDR feature.
