In this article, I show how to watch Axis cameras<\/strong> on Echo Show<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The process is very simple and takes less than 5 minutes<\/strong> to get it working.<\/p>\n

No need for special Apps<\/h2>\n

Modern Axis cameras work with the <\/span>HTML5 protocol<\/span><\/strong>. This means you can just use a regular web browser to watch the video live feed.<\/span><\/p>\n

==><\/strong> Unfortunately, the HTML5 protocol is not available in old cameras.<\/a><\/p>\n

I’m using an Axis P1365 MK II<\/strong> camera with an Amazon Echo Show 8<\/a>. <\/p>\n

Echo Show uses the Amazon Silk web browser, which works with Axis cameras.<\/p>\n

You just need to use the voice command “<\/span>Alexa, open Silk<\/span><\/em><\/strong>“.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Echo<\/span><\/p>\n

As soon as the web browser is opened, you can enter the IP camera’s address.<\/p>\n

The next step is to enter the credentials and log in to the camera.<\/p>\n

\"Axis<\/span><\/p>\n

And here’s the Axis camera live in the Echo Show.<\/p>\n

As you can see, it’s even possible to access the camera settings (bottom right).<\/p>\n

\"Axis<\/span><\/p>\n

You can press the Full-screen button to get an image like the one below.<\/p>\n

\"Axis<\/span><\/p>\n

And that’s all you have to do. Pretty easy, right?<\/p>\n

As long as you have an <\/span>Axis camera<\/span><\/strong> with <\/span>modern firmware<\/span><\/strong>, you can watch the live video stream on most devices that run a web browser.<\/span><\/p>\n

Unfortunately it’s not possible to ask Alexa to open the camera. It only opens the Silk web browser and then you input the camera’s IP address. <\/span><\/p>\n
