It&#8217;s ONVIF.<\/p>\n<h2 style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">The steps to add Axis cameras to a Hikvision NVR<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">It&#8217;s necessary to <a href=\"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/enable-onvif-on-axis-cameras\/\" style=\"outline: none;\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">enable the ONVIF protocol in the Axis cameras <\/a>and work on some adjustments to have the Hikvision NVR correctly communicating with the camera.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">One of these adjustments is the correct ONVIF profile configuration.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Let&#8217;s break it down&#8230;<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Create an ONVIF user in the Axis camera<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Here&#8217;s the step-by-step process.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Log in to the Axis camera via a web browser;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Go to Settings (or) Setup and look for the <strong>ONVIF menu<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Click the &#8220;<em><strong>Add&#8230;<\/strong><\/em>&#8221; button to create a new ONVIF user;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Type the username and password;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Add the user to a group;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Click &#8220;<em><strong>OK<\/strong><\/em>&#8221; to save the configuration.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Create ONVIF user in the Axis camera\" data-id=\"27973\" width=\"719\" data-init-width=\"1143\" height=\"610\" data-init-height=\"969\" title=\"Create ONVIF user in the Axis camera\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Create-ONVIF-user-in-the-Axis-camera.png\" data-width=\"719\" data-height=\"610\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Creating an ONVIF user in the Axis camera<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">You can create any username you want; it&#8217;s not mandatory to use root or admin.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Add the user to the media group, which is enough to have everything working.<\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">Adjust the ONVIF profile<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">You need to make a small change in the ONVIF profile in the Axis camera.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">Please don&#8217;t skip this part, or you will see the &#8220;<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/hikvision-nvr-no-enough-bandwidth\/\" target=\"_blank\" style=\"outline: none;\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">No enough Bandwidth<\/span><\/a><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">&#8221; error message while trying to add the Axis camera to the NVR.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">In the ONVIF profile screen, select the &#8220;default_1 h264&#8221; profile and change the bitrate to a lower value such as <strong>2048 Kbps<\/strong> (2 Mbps) or <strong>4096 Kbps <\/strong>&nbsp;(4Mbps).<\/p>\n<p><span><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Change Bitrate on the axis camera\" data-id=\"27972\" width=\"719\" data-init-width=\"1227\" height=\"291\" data-init-height=\"497\" title=\"Change Bitrate on the axis camera\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/learncctv.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/11\/Change-Bitrate-on-the-axis-camera.png\" data-width=\"719\" data-height=\"291\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; cursor: text;\">The value you are going to use here depends on the camera you are using.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">A FullHD camera (1920&#215;1080) usually uses around&nbsp;<\/span><strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">2 Mbps<\/span><\/strong><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">, but it requires more bandwidth depending on the installation location and other factors.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">If you have enough bandwidth in your network, just allow the camera to use 4Mbps or even higher values.
