Hikvision is a Chinese government-owned brand that has banned its devices from being used by American Government facilities but can still be used by private entities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hence, the extensive American usage of Hikvision equipment and devices. Nevertheless, the company is also a provider for various American companies who brand the devices with their logos and rebrand them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The act of purchasing Hikvision OEM products in bulk to rebrand them as their own is common. Brands then sell it to customers without their knowledge that it is a Hikvision-made device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Below you will find an alphabetical list of all companies that are known to sell Hikvision OEM products using their own brand name.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n A handful of companies used to sell Hikvision OEM products but stopped or changed to other OEM products, including Uniview and Dahua.<\/p>\n\n\n\n This company is an official Hikvision distributor but was previously known for selling Hikvision OEMs and rebranding them with their company’s logo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The brand discontinued its selling of Hikvision OEM products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Seized selling Hikvision OEM products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Switched to Dahua OEM product line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Switched from Hikvision to Uniview OEM line.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Discontinued the Hikvision OEM products line and now sell other OEMs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The company used to sell Hikvision OEM. The New W Box models are now only manufactured by Sunell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n They are no longer selling Hikvision or OEMing their products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n There are various ways to investigate whether a camera is a Hikvision OEM. A couple of signs you should look for can be found below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Though OEM resellers try their best to hide the equipment’s original Hikvision manufacturing, there are tell-tale signs and similarities that can’t be hidden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You can find these hints in the layout, GUI, log-in, web interface, and even the color scheme of certain models. Thus, comparing a Hikvision logo recorder with an OEM one shows signs through the identical interface.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Though OEM resellers utilize their models and own logos for their equipment, if the device is opened up, you will find the model number in its motherboard. When you search that number up, you can identify if it’s a Hikvision-manufactured device.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Another way to identify if a camera is an OEM is by its shipping records. Once the product arrives in the US, there is a note made about its origin and the manufacturer of said device. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Though you can look at its original manufacturer and locate the shipping records, many companies that sell Hikvision OEMs avoid direct shipping from China. They tend to ship to other countries first as a method of hiding these shipping records.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Hikvision uses the SADP tool to scan networks and locate the camera’s IP addresses. Whether the camera is an OEM or a Hikvision original, this tool can identify the camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n You can hook the camera up to its network and run the SADP tool to test it out. The IP address, model, and MAC address should be listed inside the tool if Hikvision manufactured the camera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Another way of telling if Hikvision manufactured your device is by looking up the MAC address of the OEM equipment.
