WDR stands for Wide Dynamic Range<\/strong>, is a technology used on video cameras to compensate problems with light exposure. It can work on the dark and bright areas on the image and create a balance to improve the overall image quality.<\/p>\n ==><\/strong> In this article, I explain the WDR technology based on the camera shutter speed control concept. Uses higher speed to expose the sensor to light for a short period of time.<\/p>\n 2. Uses lower speed to expose the sensor to light for a longer period of time.<\/p>\n 3. Merge both captured images with different light exposure<\/p>\n [tcb-script async=”” src=”https:\/\/pagead2.googlesyndication.com\/pagead\/js\/adsbygoogle.js”][\/tcb-script][tcb-script] (adsbygoogle = window.adsbygoogle || []).push({});[\/tcb-script]<\/p>\n By activating the WDR on the camera, the shutter will automatically exposure the camera to light twice and merge the pictures for a better result.<\/p>\n In the first picture, it is possible to see more indoor details while in the second picture you see the opposite effect with more outdoor details.<\/p>\n In the merged image it is possible to see indoor and outdoor details from the combination of both light exposures performed by the camera with the WDR.<\/p>\n Due to the fact that this feature has to merge two images into a third one. The higher the better.<\/p>\n Below is an example of the WDR information from a camera’s catalog.<\/p>\n Be very careful when comparing the differences between cameras, because some small details make a great difference in the quality of the footage.<\/p>\n On the market you can find two types of WDR cameras:<\/p>\n 1. True WDR<\/strong> cameras that work with the shutter speed technique.<\/p>\n 2.
